Worn out Property - Not Really Clean
I'm rating it as average as the hotel experience and the room were not as advertised. First, the hotel is under a large renovation, which is not really evident until you check in and find the disclaimer letter on the desk in your room. The pictures of the hotel on the Marriott website are aspirational. Top 3 or 4 floors make it look like a derelict building.
The Good:
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got a great recommendation for seafood in DesMoines.
The lobby and cafe appear newer and nice.
The Bad:
The room and furnishing were well worn.
Carpet was so old, worn and dirty that I didn't feel comfortable walking bare foot or in stockings. Wore my shoes the whole time.
Room was not really clean. There was mold in the shower and hair in the sink that did not belong to me.

There were two wine glasses and some other eating utensils on the hallway floor outside my room when I checked in. Housekeeping cart was still in the hall. They were there the next morning when I left. They were there the next afternoon when I returned. They were there the next morning when I checked out. I suspect they are still sitting on the floor outside room 809 right now. that lack of attention to detail and cleanliness just supported my feelings about how clean my room was.
Finally, I suspect this comment is only for the 8th floor. I came back to my room mid afternoon and had to listen to construction overhead for nearly 4 hours. I'm an east coaster, so wanted to nap but couldn't.
I opted to stay here because of the presentation on the web, proximity to the airport and a similar experience at a different SEATAC hotel several years ago.
I'll be back in Seattle a couple more times this year and will opt for a different property.

Worked out well for night before an early flight
Note that after the shuttle drops you at the airport, there is quite a walk, elevator (we had a large bag) and meandering about to get to bag check/security. But that is the airport itself. It was also quite a journey from where rental shuttle dropped us to where hotel shuttle pick ups are, compared to a lot of other airports.
