Exceptional hotel

Exceptional accommodation, food and service. I loved the high spec decor with the addition of classic pieces of furniture and mirrors in the public areas. The bed was the most comfortable of all the hotels weve visited. The staff is professional, attentive and courteous.

Food, Service and accommodation- First Class!

Could not fault our stay at The Devonport. We stayed in one of the small apartments next to the main Hotel/Restaurant and it had all the amenities and more. Peace and quiet- with access to a small kitchen, large shower room and comfortable bed. We ate in the main restaurant at night and for both breakfasts. Food of the highest standards served with care by the dedicated team. Everyone had clearly been trained to offer that personal service. Could not recommend this place more highly.

Small and Friendly with an excellent restaurant.

A lovely small and friendly hotel with an excellent restaurant.
Our room at the front with a wonderful view south across the River Tees towards North Yorkshire was large and warm with a good size en suite.
A lovely bar with an open log fire to relax with a drink before a late Sunday lunch of true quality served by staff with a smile.
Breakfast was excellent and nothing was to much trouble during our stay.

The Perfect Pub (and restaurant and hotel)

Fantastic service from the friendly and attentive staff.
I loved the location. The bar and restaurant area is great and the food was of a high standard.
The bedroom I booked was superb throughout with an excellent view over the river and as an added bonus I was able to charge my EV for free overnight.
I couldn't fault a single thing. I consider The Devonport to be a perfect pub as it hits the bullseye on every count and I will certainly return.

Lovely rooms, lovely staff, great food

I have stayed here a number of times when I’ve been in the area for work. It’s excellent. The food has always been 10/10, and the breakfasts are great too. Really lovely service and a nice homely atmosphere.
The Stark Suite is fantastic - would recommend booking that room.
