Beautiful gardens
We stumbled upon Landa Holiday Homes. It is down a steep track from the main road and set back in lush, well kept gardens backing onto a small river. We opted to stay in one of the new build rooms which are light and airy with good fixtures and a massive bed. There are other rooms nearer the river but we opted for the more modern style higher up the hill.
We spent the afternoon exploring the gardens, messing about in the river and chatting to the family who own the place. The garden is littered with jack fruit and pepper trees and has great views of the surrounding countryside.
In the evening, ‘Grandma’ cooked is an enormous meal, featuring some of the best aubergine and fish curry dishes that we have tasted so far on our trip to Sri Lanka. The staff were also happy to drive into the town and purchase us some cold beers to enjoy with dinner.
It is a fantastically peaceful and relaxing place and a great place to stop over if you are travelling across country or for access to Worlds End.
