Very central, close by the lake, very good location

We stayed here for two nights.
Very central, right next to the old town, very easy to get everywhere on foot: Massage places, Hair dresser, all kind of restaurants, many coffee places and not far away from the lake.
Rooms are good and comfortable ,but smaller then on the pictures, also little bit old.
It is not noisy in the room, although it's on the middle of busy streets.
Bathroom is big enough with warm shower and good pressure from the shower.
Receptionist are very nice and giving good tips, like water puppet show, good massage places and night markets. Their English is a little bit difficult to understand, but they smiling a lot :))
Good location if you wanna be in old town. Could be little bit cheaper as the place is not as new as on the pictures.
Recommend for a short stay in Hanoi.

Then canceled my reservation for making more profit

Shameless scammers. They canceled my booking few days before my arrival. They decided they want to rent out the room for a bigger price to someone else, so they kicked me out. They didn't even tell me about it, I just got an email that my booking is canceled.

The Hotel taxi didnt turn up !!! So we took a Grab taxi which was half the price the hotel wanted. The rooms and hotel did not look like in the photos, Very grubby ans tired. The balcony was the size of a small shower tray. We paid extra for a balcony with a view of the lake. Needless to say no view. They then tried to bill us more than what we agreed with Hotels.com. We moved to another hotel. They have billed my credit card. So trying to get money back for that

DONT STAY HERE

DO NOT STAY HERE! They charged my card multiple times for the full cost of the hotel (in NOVEMBER) & they still refuse to refund it. Totally unhelpful and very disappointing.
Tiny room was not what we booked - we booked a Deluxe Queen Room and got a tiny box room. The advertised skybar was hardly ever open and when it was open the staff were not helpful at all.
The only positive was that it was in a good location but there are so many other hotels in the same area, do not bother staying here.

Sadly, Trang Trang has gone downhill since i stayed in 2018. I was excited to arrive, but was instantly let down. Chipped paint and a poorly maintained lobby appearance was a hint. Then, we were not given the room we paid for. I pointed this out, and was told repeatedly that it was the "same class" of room. They insisted it was the same size although I reminded them I had previously stayed in the other rooms of the hotel. So this was clearly untrue.I noted that you can see the square footage of the rooms on the app. Finally, they told me a guest was already staying in the room I booked. Also, the room we stayed in was cramped and aging with chipped and yellowing paint. The bathroom was absurdly small and uncomfortable and the bidet had a significant leak that kept the floor wet. I withdraw my previous recommendation and agree with the current negative opinions. Stay at San Grand across the street. It is better by far.
